Kinderton Village Neighbors,

Yesterday at the Town Council Agenda Meeting (see attached) the Council voted in favor to call for a Public Hearing on the Homes Urban conditional rezoning request.

The first available date for the public hearing to be held is Tuesday, September 13th at the Town Council meeting.

Please add a reminder to your calendar and plan to attend if at all possible.

During the Citizens Comments portion of the meeting, I was given the opportunity to address the Council.

In my statement, I respectfully asked all Members to carefully consider and honor the many petitions, letters, and e-mails submitted not just from Kinderton residents but any Bermuda Run citizen who has vocally opposed the rezoning request.  As a representative of the Kinderton Master Board, my opinion expressed to the Council was the rezoning request is not only wrong for Kinderton, but unsuitable for the town overall.

If you have not yet expressed your concerns in writing to the Town of Bermuda Run,
please e-mail the following town representatives:

Fellow Residents —

As you know, after almost 13 years, Lee Rollins’ final day as Town Manager for Bermuda Run will be Thursday June 30th.  During his time here, the positive impact he has had on our town is almost beyond words.  As we look around our town, and beyond, Lee’s leadership and influence is reflected in all that we see.  Each of our neighborhoods, and the areas where we shop, dine, and relax across our town, have the indelible imprint of the work that Lee has put forth during this past decade and a half.

We want to make sure all of us who have interacted with Lee over the years have an opportunity to let him know how he has affected them, and to wish him well in his next chapter.  His time in public service has truly been for the greater good of the entire community.

We will be having a drop-in gathering for Lee on Monday June 27 from 4-6pm at WinMock.  Please mark your calendar and plan to stop by. We will have some light refreshments and you will have an opportunity to write a brief message to Lee in a memory book we are preparing for him.

Don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or need more information.

We are looking forward to seeing you there.
