Pool Opening Update

As promised we are messaging you all to provide you with another update in regards to COVID19 and swimming pools. As we get closer to potential openings we wanted to increase our communication.
The State of North Carolina will communicate when public pools can open, followed by what is communicated by our local health departments. We will agree on a date and time that your pool will open, at the Board of Directors instruction, along with a plan to manage capacity as recommended by the authorities and possible additional restrictions for the HOA members for your safety. We will communicate your opening date and time. For example, some communities have may be planning to open on June 1st, June 15th, or July 1st with their hours and plans to comply with the capacity guidelines. Please understand that we will not open your pool the moment the Governor moves to Phase 2 or 3. We will open your pool based on the plan that is communicate to members, with the collaboration of the contracted pool company.
· Please note: All pools that fall under the County/State health department rules and regulations are considered public.
· All HOA pools are public for purposes of applicability of state and county guidelines/regulations.
Phase II Reopening most likely will include capacity requirements. We are compiling both the bather load of your pool and the maximum occupancy of your facility so that your leaders will be able to make operations decisions. These numbers need to be adjusted by the final state or local directive and then factor safe distancing.
